How to create a desktop shortcut or restore a lost one

QUESTION/ISSUE:

How do I set up a new shortcut? My shortcut is lost, not installed, disappeared, how do I recover it?

SOLUTION:

1. Find the file path you wish to make a shortcut to (if possible ask coworker who has the shortcut) copy the file path.

2. Right click on desktop > New > Shortcut (see attached image)

3. Paste file path in the blank space

4. Select "Next"

5. Enter name you wish the shortcut to be called

6. Select "Finish"

VERIFY:

Click on the shortcut. Does it work?
